You can have more than one database open at any one time but only one is
current. If database1 and database2 are open and you are using a table in
database1, then you have to select database2 before you can use a table in
database2. You will not then be able to use a table in database1 until you
select it again.

The same idea of currency applies to multiple tables within a single
database - you have to select the table you want to use.
