Too bad that doesn't fix the original problem: the program could not create a file for the programmer, which caused Eu to fault and try to write it's own ex.err, which wasn't going to happen either. Windos Eu returns only a -1 to let the programmer know there is an error, but not what the error is,, unless RobC can extract the extended error msgs to give us. Kat
