I think so. For several reasons, some are just personal preference,
others are of more general interest.

Some of general interest include:
1. the ease of adding Euphoria (or other) syntax highlighting, without
having to re-compile anything.
2. the ability to edit huge files as well as large numbers of files
without choking.
3. kate can add/remove comments from blocks of code with a key press.
This eliminates the need for 'block comments' in Euphoria.
4. the ability to restore your editing environment when you open the
editor (list of files to edit and current file)

Erm.. yes there is. From the Start Applications (K) menu, select:
Configuration / Packaging / Install Software
enter root password
type "kate" into search box.
select kdebase-kate-3.1.3-79mdk
click "install" button.

The above assumes you are using KDE. If you haven't loaded KDE,
then you won't be able to run kate. I strongly urge you to install
both the Gnome and KDE desktops, and try them both. I have, and always
return to the KDE desktop.
