Jerry, I don't know if Kate is the best programming editor for Linux - but it should be on your Mandrake 9.2 installation if you have KDE installed - its part of the KDEBASE package. Which desktop are you using? Kate and Kwrite are shown on my KDE/Mandrake editor menu's and I can access them from Gnome and XFCE as well. 1. try typing "kate" into an xterm window 2. Wait for Irv to come up with a real answer Rots a' Ruck, Ken --- Jerry Story <jstory at edmc.net> wrote: > > > I heard a rumor that Kate is the best editor for > programming for Linux. > Is this true? > > I have: > Advanced Editor > CoolEdit > Emacs > Gedit > Kate -- but clicking on this doesn't work > Kedit > KHexEdit > Nedit > VI editor > > I have Mandrake 9.2, download edition, 3 CDs.
