I have earlier experience with deployment of apps in uncontrolled environments; some of the deployed apps cannot use the normal Internet data transmission protocol which was suposed to operate everywhere, because of proxies, after two years of relentless effort. Unless somone has a very brilliant idea, you must come up with some alternative scheme, relying on email, floppies or such things, to perform the expected data exchange. Note that all proxies don't necessarily block useful traffic; this all depends on the security policy each proxy server enforces, and on the way it does so. CChris
