I don't know why your vendor locked Win NT 4.0 install CD won't allow a
re-install on the very same machine.  Perhaps the original install was
never performed with the CD you have.  Maybe they used a different CD and
the CD you have was already "drinks coaster" material from day one 

As it happens I have a spare Win NT 4.0 install CD I'd be happy to donate.

check both every time I go online).
