Euman:

   As far as I know you still should be able to put that OS back
   on that same machine because the id is stored in the BIOS MEMORY
   and after formating or replacining the drive it still should
   be able to install that CD. The reason OEM's have locked bios
   is because they purchase the OS at a discount price and must
   lock them because of this special price requirement.
