RE: Eupho 2.4 feature request

I'm using the web interface for the mailing list, so I didn't get the
attachment, but I assume your referring to the trace facility.

I'm pretty sure Rob had mentioned adding support for tracking
slices of sequence variables to the trace facility for v2.3, but for
some reason he didn't do it.

We would then be able to specify a slice of a sequence that we want to
see the contents of. This would solve what you are talking about.

Something that HASN'T been mentioned before, is auto tracking a
specified variable. Quite often, I trace a program specifically to see
how a specific variable is being assigned. Currently, when you stepp
through a program with the trace facility, each variable that is
assigned a value, displays at the bottom, replacing the variable that
I'm actually trying to track, meaning I then have to type '?
variable_name' again. That's every four assignments, if the desired
variable doesn't get assigned within those four. Or if you skip a
routine that assigns to the desired variable.

I don't think we'll be seeing a windows based trace facility shipped
with EU anytime soon. (Didn't someone make one though?)
That would mean yet another branch of EU that RDS needs to implement,
test, and support.
