Judith,

I've encountered a similar problem before, nothing to do with EU.
I couldn't read/write anything on floppy.
The solution was to simply reset my computer.
Everything was fine after that.

I've just copied the installer to floppy, copied it to my other 
computer, and installed it just fine.
I don't think problem is in EUsetup.
