One last try: in the first lines of burn(), try replacing 19 by 257. It may
 work. You'll probably need to insert a use_vesa(1) before the call.

Otherwise, right click on desktop, choose properties/parameters, and see
if you can access a list of supported video modes from there; choose any low 
resolution 256 color graphic mode number, change 19 to that and try again. 

Oh, by the way, are the problems the same when you execute ex font.ex from
 a DOS window, rather than just double clicking the file icon?
Can you run the EUPHORIA\DEMO\DOS32\ programs succesfully?
