wxEuphoria doEvents()

Is there an equivalent in wxEuphoria to win32lib's doEvents()? I would like to be able to check a flag (which is set by pressing a radio button) while inside a procedure called by pressing another button. Maybe I've coded it wrongly but the main window is totally unresponsive until the procedure returns. Thanks, Bob
