wildcard round 2

Thank you to Lucius Hilley and Scott Murray. I am going to try both of
your suggestions about solving the 'wildcard' problem. They are both
approaches I never thought of, which is one of the things that make this
forum such a great tool for us all.
What I really am trying to find out is if it is possible for EU to
accept a scratch-label (composed from an appropriate input) where the
previously assigned LABEL or String Name pointing to its string of data can
be accessed. In other words:
object abc
object a,b,c
abc={"one","two","three"}
--bring up the string by composing a&b&c equals abc
which they don't, they equal "".
I am trying to find out if it is LEGAL in EU to do such. It is
important to allow for access to files [strings of data] so that they data
can be manipulated or 'mined'. I will post another question right after
this about another problem I have encountered. As I say, these so-called
problems are ways of being able to free-up access from outside to data on
the inside, in ways that are novel and powerful in their both their ability
and ease of use. To put it another way, I am attempting to re-define what
traditional Data is compared to traditional 'Methods of Storage' of
Information. I am in the process of putting together a team of programmers
who can understand the importance of this. Object of all of this in the
future? To be able to design an OS which can be made far simpler because
data/programming is far 'smarter'. This is the only way to beat out
Windows and even Linux; they are far too complex and keep heading off into
a direction that is every day is even more so. I am trying to go in the
opposite direction.
To break out of this self-induced idea that the more complex something
becomes, the more powerful it is, is a trap. You can see this happening
right now with the admitted failure of Windows 2000 to integrate Windows 98
and Windows NT. This is where EU can fit in very nicely, and I have so far
raised a significant amount of interest and money to do so. More bout this
last part later.
EU is a good power to complexity ratio, and it should be exploited more
for itself as itself rather than just how well it works with other things.
Thanks for reading my longish RANT.
   Norm
