Before I go do my Christmas shopping, I surely would like an answer to
that question. Mr. Dumer seemed to be one of the most devoted and
likeable of the contributors to this list...regardless of one's opinion,
positive or negative, of his code. The what seemed to be friendly
competition between his and David Cuny's respective IDE's appeared
to be causing both to mature rapidly. If there are copyright or patent
issues, the rest of us need to know that because we may have code
that is or will be dependent on that code. If RDS has pushed VEL and
Damien off the archive and him off the list, the rest of us are flat owed an
explanation. If Gary has requested that these actions be taken, then I
am most sorrowful, but I would like confirmation of that request. It is
hard to believe that someone would put that much effort into a really
beautiful piece of work and then just abandon it and disappear.

It is also unlikely that the work would disappear from the archive without
some specific reason. If I have in my possession a library that has legal
issues associated with it, and RDS has done nothing to inform me of
that problem while carefully protecting itself. Well, let's just say that I
might be a little piqued.

Anybody that has knowledge of these issues, please post them on the list
or to me privately.
