Euphoria on Linux

Hello,

A long time ago. Now I am on Linux.

In a Bash script I would replace the simple 'read'
command with a  editable line, in Euphoria.
I make the routine and its work fine.
I have however two problems :
1- How can I prevent Euphoria from clearing the screen
at start or/and at end of run. (I call the routine into
a shell script)?
2- How can I pass the edited string to the shell for
further use ?
