Not a bit. Do you think Joe Shmoe on the street even understands
his/her software license, if [s]he even reads them. It wouldn't get any
attraction in the news media, and so it is a secret.

The infoworld link is... um... fubarred.

That is odd, but it's not really their "Territory" as it were.

It's an analogy, I think. Actually, that does seem out of place, but I
think it's as an example of "what could happen to YOU!"

As a side note, sometimes I think the members of FSF like to use 25
sentences when 2 will suffice to get a point across. I call this the
GNU Obfususication of Philosophy Principle, and it can be proven by
attempting to read the entire GPL preamble without falling asleep. That
said, Mr. Stallman was referring to the "Liberty-free" open-source
definition of free rather than said "Fiscal-free" freeware. I think...
(Try saying that free... I mean... five times fast.)

http://www.ftc.gov/be/v990010.htm should hopefully be sufficient proof.
The FTC does not usually partake in Hoaxes, AFAIK.

Thank you, Irv. I was not aware of this.
