You don't have to use ActiveX to use win32lib in future.

What Matt is referring to is that the new version makes it easier to add
"controls" independantly of the library. Those controls could be wrapped
ActiveX or even ones written in pure Euphoria. There is a new protocol being
developed to allows controls to "announce" themselves to the library and use
standard library functionaity.
