I've been studying Euphoria for about four weeks, now, after some years programming in dBase, Clipper, Foxpro, APL, etc.. Sometimes I see posts here complaining about Euphoria's Slooooowwwneeeesssss. I can't seem to keep my jaw from dropping open, when I see that. I just wrote a program which reads a file of 5,346 records, computes three different moving avaerages of several fields (objects) in the data, through the entire file, loads a user-selected number of records into a two-dimensional array, and then does futher calculations on the data, in that array. Total elapsed time: 0.11 seconds!!! 11/100ths of a second!!! (I'm not even using EDS). I know many Foxpro and Clipper programmers who would kill for processing times like that. Perhaps I'm a bit slow, and no doubt, I've still got a lot to learn, but I've never before experienced a language in which I could become proficient in a few weeks. So, Thanks, Robert Craig, for Euphoria. Well named. Regards Jim Duffy
