Hi, Irv. Problem is that MS updates install themselves automatically. You (or at least I) can't download them first, save to disk, and then manually install them one by one. So, I never installed any of them. Instead, when I had to re-install Windows (usually because some minor problem arose when installing fair but buggy software), I did so from the CD, then installed AVG antivirus (an updated version downloaded through another PC) and other protecting software, and everything was virus-free for a while.
