I haven't had that problem. Maybe it's the mouse driver?

I *did* have trouble with losing mouse release events when the program was
busy with screen refreshes after a mouse click. I ended up manually checking
the state of the mouse button to make sure I didn't miss anything. Jiri has
some tools in RATBAG.E that you can use for this.
