Then I tried Topica for awhile, same thing. Using RSS was okay but replying to messages brought me to the web interface anyway. I prefer the web interface but I would even more prefer a forum. I use several internet forums as it is now and I don't have a problem with speed. Of course, I am almost sure to read almost every message anyway... One thing I notice about mailing lists as well as forums is that it can be hard for newer people to fit into the existing community. However that should not be a problem for many of us who have been here for years... Other nice thing abouts forums is that they have a preview feature, which I really like, as well as the ability to edit and/or delete your messages. And most forums let you use BBCode and images. You can quote even very old messages. I like the quoting facility in forums better. Well, I guess email offers many of the same advantages but I've just never gotten used to it. I use email for email and forums for forums. They just seem like two totally separate things. Listfilter is *almost* as good as a forum. Clicking on a title gives you *almost* the same as a threaded interface.
