This may or may not work, but I had a bunch of really scratched music cd's
that wouldn't play right in my car cd player.  I purchased a polisher unit (I
think I got it at Walmart about $18, but you could probably get one online) and
it restored them to perfect health!  Don't know if it would work in your case,
but
it only take a couple minutes to polish the disk.  Worth a shot.
