If its not too late, I would suggest that you get an IBM
machine with RedHat linux pre-installed. IBM and
RedHat are now partners and, you know that everyone
bases and looks out for changes that BIG BLUE makes.

If you want compatability USE IBM and RedHat...
I would also shoot for a totally upgradable IBM machine.
