I have tried recently this distros: Mandrake 9 Red Hat 8 Peanutlinux Knoppix (runs on cd and ramdisk) My opinion: Knoppix it's nice to test the compatibility of a computer with linux, without changing any byte in the hd. You can in 5 minutes set up a apache web server in a computer, for example. Mandrake - easy to use, easy to install, automount your partitions to acess window files. Few programas. Smaller then Red HAT. RED HAT - I have some problems with boot after instalation but after some reinstalations (3 !) I could solve them. Has more programs than mandrake, but I have a lot of problems instaling new packages.... The EE editor, for example, did not work. Pealinux - I cannot enter in X after installation. Could only work in text mode. Very small. Basic iso 300mb. Rubens At 02:28 21/12/2002, you wrote: >and I'm going to put a Linux distro on it... So...
