Try this...

    atom char, pnt, ok
    char = struct_CHARFORMAT( 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,"")
    ok = sendMessage( myRichEdit, EM_GETCHARFORMAT, 1, char )
    pnt = fetch(char, CHARFORMAT_yHeight) / 20
    release_mem(char)
