I've been told for DJGPP (which is GCC-based) that where I have:
  -mpentium
a warning is issued by the compiler saying:
        '-mpentium' is deprecated.
       Use '-march=pentium' or '-mcpu=pentium' instead.
Is that the kind of message you are getting?
