How about chnaging the code like this ...

FROM:

   poke4(pvCube+16, {#FFFFFFFF,0})

TO:
   atom spareatom 
   . . . 
   spareatom = #FFFFFFFF
   poke4(pvCube+16, {spareatopm, 0})
just as an experiment.
