Seriously, you might point out that C had no user base when it was invented,
either. BASIC _used_ to have a huge user base, until other programming
languages were invented, and people found out how limited, unwieldy, and
utlimately old-fashioned it was. (You may have to explain these long words to
him - they basically mean "crappy")

Ask just what utilities he is talking about. (I'm betting he won't be able
to name any) If he does, point out that Euphoria is so easy to use we don't need
to depend on others to write simple utility programs for us  .
