Hi Brian,

thanks for pointing to the PNG format. But 

1. there is no legal restriction to use the GIF format, and
2. there is the 'save_pic.zip' package from Christopher Street in
   the Euphoria archive which seem to contain just those routines
   I need.

Although ''save_pic.zip' is declared to be for DOS32, the routines I
need will run under Win32. The enhanced capabilities of PNG format is
not really useful for my demands, and there is no EUphoria library for
PNG right now.
