Just a short note here about all of the discussion going on about what direction to point Euphoria in, making an OS that sticks, changing the name, etc. If what you want to do is blaze new trails then how about attracting the rest of the world to EU in a big way by doing just that: going where no one has ever gone before: 1. The name is just fine as it is. 2. Why try to compete for already occupied space when there is lots of untouched area out there? 3. Get away from trying to copy C, Basic, Java, Python, et al, ad nausium ad infinitum --- this stuff goes on forever! What I am trying to say here is that there is opportunity sitting outside the door, begging for attention. Windows as the Great Monolithic is starting to show plenty of cracks, and so is its partner in crime, Intel. Wake up! For Example, take a look at what Toshiba and Sony are doing with that new machine with its equally funny-sounding cpu 'Emotion Engine'. I am talking about the Playstation2 which can operate at the rate of 6.2 gigaflops (that 6.2 Billion floating-points per second) bringing this box into super computer status. This thing is a gamer's dream, needs a OS, and currently does not have any programming language for it that normal people can relate to. The company is spending a billion dollars just on fabricating the chip. It has to eat up a lot more territory than just being thumb-candy. I think there is plenty of opportunity here for all of you who can see the advantages of being there first. thanks norm
