Chris,

I *think* that Kat was referring to making ones mail handler show *all* the
"extensions" in an *attachment* [so that attachments that *appeared* to be
.doc or .txt, but actually had stuff after that (so they were actually
executable) could be noticed], and I don't think making the extensions for
files in folders visible would do this??  Maybe I'm wrong, though.

To always view your file extensions in win 98. Open a folder, then
click view, then folder options. When the folder options menu open,
click view again, then unselect [Hide file extensions of know file
types]
