Judith,

Instead of popping back using setRect, you might want to try using 
onEvent to trap the WM_GETMINMAXINFO message to minimize the size of the 
Controls window.  Sorry I don't have an example handy (and I'm surprised 
I've never played with this before) but for more info you might want to
