i remember downloading the spybot search and destroy and lavasoft adware updates
after installing from a magazine cd. have been no cost.

spybot i updated every couple of months.

computer associates ez-armor update (annual cost) is 19.95 cdn.
cannot remember original program cost, 60.00 cdn?
email notification of virus signature updates is available too.
those updates have been averaging about 4 out of 7 days.
