Ken,

  I ask because it is the C++ compiler and IDE that I already have installed
on my computer.  It was free and I have used it to compile games with that
someone had written on Linux using GCC, by just downloading a couple of 
packages to add in to it.  It seems to work fine for me, I just did not want
to get involved with installing 600 different C++ compilers on my PC.

Since Dev C++ is already installed I wanted to go with it.
