While Alabama legal code says i can protect <snip< > Kat > Kat, I understand what you mean about the legal code in Alabama, being a resident there myself, I recently had it out with a neighbor over a dog he had running loose in the neighborhood. I told him that if he did not do something about it I would call the police. Finally I did and they informed me that the only thing they could do was "ASK" him to tie the dog up, there was a leash law in our city, but it wasn't really being enforced. Finally, one day the dog attacked my grand-daughter, and I had to stone it out of my yard. When I called my lawyer he said that he did not feel that we had much of a case, since the grand-daughter was not seriously injured. The lawyer called the owner of the dog, and the owner finally removed the dog from the neighborhoos and sent it to a relatives, but that was all that came out of it, my lawyer said the owner could counter-sue for injuries I caused the dog by stoning it. Imagine that? Good Luck with it, I hope it comes out in your favor. Later.
