No. Yes. Maybe. Depends on how you look at it. You can
perform some of the same operations on both (multiplication,
for instance), but the mechanics differ. You can swap
chunks of data around in matrices with no ill effect
(swapping rows, which you'll get to), while the same
action in sequences would usually be a big no-no.
On the other hand, you could certainly represent
matrices with sequences quite nicely. You might want
to look around the archives a bit; I seem to remember
seeing something about matrix operations at one point,
though I never got around to looking at it.
