Well, if woody is a 2 year old package, and there's not a newer one, then 
that IS the latest Debian, is it not?
And, by the way, Euphoria runs fine on Slack, Mandrake, Red Hat, Suse, etc.
versions which are two or more years old. 
It's just that Debian leaves out the necessary library, and it isn't available 
via apt-get. Copying one from some other distribution is likely to cause 
problems.
