Dear EU users: There is one new version of DOS here in Russia. It is PTS-DOS 32, the next generation of PTS-DOS 2000. Visit please: http://www.PhysTechSoft.com there is the English and German versions of PTS-DOS, the site has English and German pages. This company is based on famous Russian university - Moskowskij Physico-Tekchnicheskij Institut. There was some little feature in these DOSe's - standard Euphoria did not want to run on these strange Russian platforms. But the last build of PTS-DOS 32 has no this feature, it is discovered and fixed now and Euphoria runs OK now. There is work around that feature on PTS-DOS 2000 platform. Very simple thing - just rename ex.exe into exd.exe or other ex_N.exe you like and it will run on previous PTS-DOS 32 and PTS-DOS 2000. PTS-DOSes are the fastest and smallest DOSes in the world. This product is certificated by Russian Military Ministry, its versions used for the cosmic sputniks, atomic industry etc. It has the ROM version too. PTS-DOS 2000 takes only 2 floppy disks, contains the modern DOS Internet browser (very good, 1.3Mb zip, works on my 386 mainframe with 8Mb RAM, 40Mb HDD -- I have now the IBM NetVista machine with 1.8Ghz P4, 256Mb RAM, 3x40Gb HDDs, CDRW/DVD, ThinkVision flat panel, Linux Red Hat 9 -- but I love and prefer my old good 25Mhz 386 with 640x480 VGA and 12x CD), yes, and now this DOS runs Euphoria - the fastest and smallest programming system. For now, I am testing EU DOS/GEN programs on these great OSes, but then I'll try to prepare the Web page with links to recommended EU DOS and GEN programs of The Archive of RDS for the http://www.PhysTechSoft.com site. PTS-DOSes cost just $20 or so, free trial versions have no the functional restrictions, 1 min. on start delay only, about 1 and 2Mb downloads. Good Luck with Good DOS and Euphoric programming Again - visit please http://www.PhysTechSoft.com/ Regards, Igor Kachan kinz at peterlink.ru
