Then how do I tell the difference between a FreeBSD platform and a
Linux platform? Some Linux code (not a lot, but some) may not run on
FreeBSD.
Perhaps a unix_platform() function, which returns 1 on Linux and 2 on
FreeBSD and 0 on DOS/Windows?
