I'm in the process of writing a home automation program that would have 
the 
following Features.
--X10 support
--RS 80 Thermostat support (Its cheaper than X10 thermostat)
--Voice Recognition
--interface with the following security systems
  a) Omni
  b) Aegis
  c) Gemini
  d) Ocelet
-- Remote access 
-- phone control
I have most of it done but i have two problems that i must resolved 
before i 
can release it on RDS web sight.  First I have a WinModem, as we all 
know you 
need  driver to access its features. Secondly, To access serial ports is 

usually straightforward except if you have window's Nt then again you 
need a 
driver to access the ports (damn microsoft).  I'm trying to make the 
program 
so that anyone can use it 
regardless of what OS system and modem they are using.  Thus if anyone 
have 
any information or would like to help with this project, please let me 
know
