Hi Sam,

IMHO, I wouldn't bother modifying this type of user input.  If a program 
asked for my name (for a high score list or whatever), I'd want to see 
it exactly the way I typed it, not the way the program thinks I should 
have typed it.

That being said, I will leave it to you to 'trim the fat' from the 
snippet below.  (hint: prompt_string() comes to mind or if you want 
something a bit more fancy, check out David Cuny's 'Simple User Input 
Routine' in the archives)

Or are you really looking for a better routine that does this?
