Shortcuts to the Desktop

Thanks for the tip Chris, but Martin's program keeps placing the "test" under my root directory (c:). The installation I have created can place the right LNK files in \Windows\Desktop and Windows\Start Menu\Programs. This works fine on my machine and anyone who has accepted the default values in a Windows Installation. I guess, what I am looking for is a way to find the path to the default windows directory so that I can change the copyFile line to \path\Desktop and \path\Start Menu\Programs. As you can probably tell, I am new to the programming world (born again, since my last language was Pascal... many eons ago!), so any help would be greatly appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Bensler" <bensler at mail.com> To: "EUforum" <EUforum at topica.com> Sent: Sunday, March 31, 2002 6:51 PM Subject: RE: Shortcut Icon LNK file > > Do a search for "Desktop Shortcut" from the RDS Archives > > Martin Stanchon made a library for creating shortcuts. > > Chris > > robert at wyotaz.com wrote: > > I am looking for a way to programmatically create a shortcut on my > > desktop. > > > > Any suggestions?
