Whoops, looks like some of my stupidity rubbed off: that's only 3
bytes or 24-bit integers, btw. I don't think you can buy a 32-bit
machine with the needed 32GB memory, so don't bother trying it blink

Yeah, it's not relevant now, but I was actually timing table lookup,
not the initialise.
