Another reason, I like the fact that the indexes, data, and tables in MySql are all in separate files which would minimize any corruption damage. I am using (and would probably continue) EUDb for writing and debugging. I have all the I/O routines ( open, read, readnext, etc)isolated as includes so I would only have to include a different library set for MySQL and the software would continue to work as written.
