Well, I came up with a relatively simple, marginally acceptable solution to "disabling" the special Windows keys on some keyboards: JUST REBOOT IN DOS MODE! Kinda obvious in retrospect. :) Not such a good solution for a kids program, but it's the best I have come up with. Would much rather have a (solid) programmatic solution, though.
