I agree that you can only go so far with *any* Windows library (including VB) while attempting to maintain complete ignorance to the inner workings of Windows. Working with onPaint is an excellent example. I struggled for a while to do it, and finally gave up. I could have set the Window attribute to have persistant graphics, so you wouldn't need to deal with onPaint, but the memory overhead was just too high. -- David Cuny
