WinTer has arrived...

Hi everybody:
I've sent Robert my new (alpha) "WinTer" Windows Termomether device. I was
trying to update the DOS one (at the Euphoria) archive. It turned to be
*easier* to write it from scratch under windows, with Win32Lib...
The device uses a very simple circuit based on a single chip from Dallas
Semiconductor. Really easy to implement. There is an schematic diagram in
.BMP format.
Even if you don't plan to build it, you can try the program.
It shows a small window simulating a three digit L.E.D. display. At the
beginning shows "Err" until the first reading. Without the device plugged
at the parallel port, the reading should be -00.5.Precision is half degree
(enough to accurately track your computers room temperature).
It uses a timer to trigger the capture every minute (or so).
It's an alpha, so .BMP management is not optimized (i.e. they are fetched
from disk every time), and there are other improvements to do.
It's centigrade at this time. If there is enough demand, I would consider
to add a button to set it to farenheit... blink
Special thanks to David Cuny and Peter Eberlain for their help.

Regards,
Jesus-- (
