Hmm. Everyone has a different opinion on which one is the best. Makes it hard for a newbie to linux to pick out a good one. I guess you cant really say wich is best untill you've tried them all. I have only tried Mandrake 8.2 and Peanut 9.3(wich didnt want to work right) so as far as I know, Mandrake is the best because if actually works for me. I dont use it very often though. Someday I probably will. What is it that makes a person think one version of linux is better than another ? Speed? Stability? Flexibility? Cost? Size? Popularity? Graphical User Interface? Software bundle? Supported Hardware? With such a big list of things that there are to consider, I don't think there is a such thing as the "Best" general-purpose version of Linux. Not untill one of them comes up on top of ALL categories anyways. Most of the reviewers seemed to agree that the boxen were a little *too* low end, and it was better to spend a bit more somewhere else. Personally, I use Mandrake. It's fairly painless for idiots like me. If you are curious about Linux, there are a number of 'demo' CD distros that will boot from a CD, so you don't have to install it on your hard drive to play with it - Knoppix is pretty much the best one out there. -- David Cuny ==^^=============================================================== This email was sent to: robsz1 at netzero.net ---
