I am able to redirect just fine with this(and only this):

puts(1, "Location: http://www.google.com/\r\n\r\n")

If you don't output "Status: 302\n", you certainly won't get a redirect.
The Content-Type line is unnecessary, but didn't cause any problem 
when I added it.
