Don, Tried the attached program, it ran and said the key was removed. I reran Nexus, changed my window colors and got the same result. I then traced the GetProfileBin routine and noticed that none of the registery values were being retrieved so the problem is not isloated to the colors. Did I mention I was using Win2000 Pro? I wonder if this might be a security related issue. I read through the docs on the routines to get/set reg values and noticed some discussion of security issues for the NT/2000/XP platform. Didn't have a lot of time to investigate. What OS are you using?
