Hi Lucius, From the code fragments you supplied it is impossible to say where the real bottlenecks are. If it is, as I suspect, the file i/o, you can speed up the thing quite a lot by using Jacques' block read/writes from his doswrap.e, on average about three to four times in my experience. If you need more help, give me few more details and little time. Jiri
